Rather than listing your duties and responsibilities, focus on the results you brought to the company by starting every bullet point with a strong success verb.

These are actions that imply the positive outcome of your work before you even mention the details, like: boosted, maximized, optimized, improved, reduced, advanced or enhanced.

These replace tepid verbs like managed, oversaw, performed or implemented which don’t say anything about the end result of your work.

Add as many numbers as possible

It is essential to include as many numbers as possible to validate your claims and help your potential employer visualize the success you bring to a company.

Rather than “Improved inventory management system,” you might include, “Improved IMS speed by 30% by increasing real-time inventory updates by 42% and consolidating over 400 redundant SKUs.”

Numbers are specific and leave no room for questions or doubts. It shows a recruiter exactly how much you contribute, the kind of workload you can manage, the size of the team you’re used to supervising and how you create measurable results that add to the company’s bottom line.

Include every promotion

For a potential employer, promotions show that your work is worth rewarding and people like keeping you around. It’s a powerful indicator of your previous success, and strong social proof that you’re a great hire.

Don’t be modest here. Include every promotion you’ve received for each position.


Brief and succinct, the education section of this resume template only serves to provide context to the rest of your professional success.

You can skip any extracurricular activities or incomplete degrees, and just include these four basics:

  • Where you attended school
  • The dates of your attendance
  • The degree(s) you obtained
  • Any awards or honors you graduated with
