Job Description

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Senior IT Applications Engineer position at our Indiana Harbor facility in East Chicago, IN. The position supports message queuing, custom client server applications developed .net and supports the refactoring older applications developed in vb6, MS Access and C to either visual studio C# windows programs, SSIS packages, etc. to support the Plant Applications area. Individual needs to be proficient in the technology to complete the programming work quickly and cost effectively. They will need to get requirements, create functional & technical specifications, program, test, implement, and maintain applications. They must adhere to Cleveland-Cliffs programming and process standards.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Collaborates with the business, other team members, or vendors participating in meetings to analysis and develop project requirements and technical support tasks.
Works proactively to take requirements and modify or develop applications while identifying all critical interfaces and address any impact in user testing and implementation
Plans, organizes, and implements technical projects and solutions following the Change Management process. Create required documentation /evidence for enhancements or new applications systems with expertise and experience in the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle).
Ensures timely and effective feedback for customer issues and requests while providing recommendations for enhancements or changes to correct or minimize support issues.
Provides 24 X 7 on-call support for existing Indiana Harbor applications
Support and development of online and batch applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
5 or more years' experience in IIS, ASP.net, MVC, SQL, SSRS, SSIS, C, C++, C#, vb.net, .net core, DevOps and very good written and verbal communication
5 or more years utilizing the SDLC process in software development or Agile Methodology
2 or more years' experience in a Steel manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ Web and Windows Application Development using Microsoft Technologies stack
2+ years experience in Adabas/Natural for Windows
2+ years experience with JCL/JES3, SQL, INCOM & some experience with OFS at IHE
3+ years experience in Project Management; and demonstrated good leadership, communication, organizational and teamwork skills
1+ years experience in Microsoft Blazor framework for building interactive client-side web UI with . NET
1+ years experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory or Azure Synap
1+ years experience with Jira Issue and Project Tracking
